Why do we exist as a church?
The mission of the Logos Baptist Church is to:
-
- Fulfill the Great Commission of the Lord.
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:18-20), and
- Fulfill the Great Commission of the Lord.
- Obey the Great Commandment of the Lord.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind”, and “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matt. 22:37-39).The Great Commission’s main point is to make disciples. The going and baptizing activities speak of evangelistic and outreach ministries, and the teaching to observe activity speaks of the disciple-making ministries of the church. The authorities given to Jesus Christ (v.18) form the basis on which these ministries are carried out. These authorities include the power to administer spiritual, physical as well as emotional healing. The Great Commandment’s main points are manifested in our expression of worship and devotion to God, as well as in our service rendered in love to all those in need, both members within the church and non-members in the community.
